Style not Age do Full Skirts.

Good morning everyone.
Hope you are well.

Hands up who’s put their tree up? I’ll go first … 🙌 yep I put mine up with the help of Max who put the baubles on, yes I re-arranged them when he went to bed! It looks beautiful with so many pretty decorative ornaments over it, on nearly every branch! I try to pick one or two up when I’ve been away for special weekends or out for days near Christmas. I bought three on a trip to Scotland a few years ago and two on my long weekend to Baden Baden with David and our four good friends. It’s nice to come home with little keepsakes, they make lovely memories and it’s nice to recall buying them.

Back to Friday. I went to a friends for a girly evening with some other friends was to celebrate her birthday and we dined on chillie, followed by cheese and biscuits and a couple of glasses of fizz.  It was nice to chat and catch up along with marvel at her stunning new house that over looks the sea. It was an early night, so no sore head the next morning. That was a good idea for me as I went to paint the last bit of my daughter’s house. Carpets are being finished off in the next few days and the kitchen is being installed today! The move back home is getting ever nearer, but I’m hoping they’ll still be here for Christmas - fingers crossed for that. 🤞

So today is the last Monday, and it’s my turn to choose the prompt. I saw that voluminous skirts were hitting the headlines so opted for the title …

Full Skirts.

I had this vision of how this outfit would look in my head and couldn’t pass on this maxi lace skirt (similar) when I spotted it in my local F&F. It’s an elasticated waist and as this style has so much fabric I managed to get into a smaller size so that’s one good point. Another is the fact it has pockets, oh I do love pockets and I know for a fact lots of you do too. It’s also lined but you can still see the lace pattern that’s all over it.

I pulled out about five or six tops and blazers to go with this skirt but couldn’t settle on any of them … until I spotted this little gold knitted top (similar) and upon looking found that my stylish gold patterned cropped jacket looked great with it. The deal was done and an outfit was born.

You might remember seeing this fancy jacket before as I’ve featured it a few times on the blog in the past. I know I mentioned it then - but it was a present to my daughter for Christmas. She lost weight and threw it in the charity bag as it was too big. Fortunately for me I spotted it and quickly pulled it to the safety of my little hands! It’s a fabric with a zigzag design (similar) in shades of white and black & has a festive gold thread woven into it which makes it the perfect addition to lots of LBO - little black outfits. 🖤🤍💛 It sits nicely on the waist and has a hook and eye catch at the neck.

Black sparkles were in order and these comfy sling-backs (similar) were first choice. I like the fact they have an elastic band across the bridge making them really sturdy. The heel is a nice fashionable block and is a shiny patent, perfect for the festive season. I grabbed a padded clutch bag and was ready for a night out partying. Shame that didn’t happen but I’ll be ready for my next night out. 😉

Let’s see Hilda’s, Anna’s, Emma’s and Gail’s take on the challenge.
First up it’s Gail’s - Is This Mutton whose charity shop bargain takes centre stage. The colours are lovely for this season and it’s one I’d wear in a heartbeat.

Like me, Anna had trouble getting photos due to storm Bert putting a spanner in works. But it didn’t stop her producing this stunning outfit based around a fancy full skirt in bright yellow. See more of her look on her blog Anna’s Island Style.

Emma - Style Splash chose this stunning skirt with all the pretty shades of pink and blue topped off with a complimentary pink jumper. Such a pretty look.

Finally it’s Hilda’s turn. She’s styling a loaned skirt from her favourite local boutique. I need one of those near me I reckon. Go find out all the background of how this outfit came about on her blog Over the Hilda.

Good to have you here today, hope you like what my friends and I picked. Let me know in the comments below and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday for another linkup.
